THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MALCZYCE BARRAGE ON THE ODER RIVER
ETP is constructing the Malczyce Barrage for the Regional Water Management Board in Wrocław. This project aims at restoring the original level of groundwater, stopping erosion processes in the riverbed and renewing the shipping route. Brzeg Dolny Barrage will be protected against scouring and loss of stability. Valuable alluvial forests, so far threatened due to drying out of soil, will be protected too.
The construction of water power plant situated along the lift axis of the barrage between the flap weir pillar and the upper head of a canal lock will use the natural flow of the river to generate electricity.
